Rancang Bangun Modul VAR Compensator Berbasis MyRIO - 1900
Abstract
Poor power factor leads to increased reactive power. Increased reactive power causes increased power losses and costs. To overcome this, a mini PC-based VAR compensator module was designed. This tool is used to improve the power factor and as a teaching module on power factor compensation. The method used is to compare the power factor when the load is installed with the standard power factor, namely 0.85-1. Power factor readings were carried out with the PZEM-004T sensor and MyRIO-1900 mini PC as the controller and the LabVIEW software as a programming language. If the power factor is less than 0.85 the VAR compensator works by connecting the capacitor group to the mains grid. The power factor compensation will stop if the power factor approaches 1. From the test results obtained by the addition of capacitor, the power factor can be improved so that reactive power reduced by 69,08 % and current consumed by the load are reduced by 47 % to 54,4 %.Published
