Abstract

Elasticity of solids, static fluids, dynamic fluids, and thermodynamics are the four materials taught in physics classes for 11th grade students. Based on interview result, conventional methods with conventional media still cause difficulties due to limited information, and the lack of teaching aids to support learning.  So that we need a new learning media that can explain physics material interactively and be used as an alternative to new media to help students understand the material. Therefore, a desktop-based learning application physics will be built with the material elasticity of solid, static fluid, dynamic fluid, and thermodynamics which will display a simulation of the application and the material. This application has been successfully built with functionality that runs well and validated material to help students understand the material presented by obtaining an increase that is superior to conventional media, i.e. 21,33% for elasticity of solid, 14% for static fluids, 16% for dynamic fluids, and 19% for thermodynamics. Along it can be used as an alternative interactive learning media for teachers in delivering the material presented by obtaining a satisfaction test result of 89,21% with a very good category and a usability test of 73,20% which indicates that the application is acceptable.
